Mr. Benz's Background & Educational Objectives

Hello. My name is David Benz and I am currently teaching Earth Science 1 & 2 and Introduction to Physics at our Flushing Campus.



 
Period 10 Lab Schedule:  Room 106  (3:05-4:05 PM)
New York State Law - Regents Level Science Classes
- You must have a minimum of 600 minutes in lab per term.
-1200 minutes (2 semesters) of lab time, with successful completion of the assigned labs is a pre-requisite for all Regents Science exams.

DO NOT BE ABSENT ON TEST DAYS! - THIS IS THE SUREST WAY TO FAIL THIS COURSE.

Make-up tests, available only with a valid excused absence, are worth up to 50% of the original test's value. (The average of the original 0 and your test score when you take the make-up is your score)

Earth Science 1 - Study and review: Topics 1, 2, 8,9,11,12 - Latitude, longitude, topographic maps, calculating gradients and rates; rock cycle, water cycle, plate tectonics, earthquakes and volcanoes.

 

 

Earth Science 2 - Study and review: Topics 3, 4, 5, 6, 7,8, 13 Energy and phase changes, insolation and the seasons, climate and the water cycle, astronomy and earth's motions, geologic age of the earth.

Intro to Physics - Study and review: Topics 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,  Mechanics, motion, projectile motion, momentum, energy, electric circuits, and waves.
