“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” This notable quote by George Santayana illustrates the need to empower young minds with the knowledge of history.

I teach U.S. History I & II. These two courses are Regents classes. I help prepare the students to be ready for the Regents exam. Moreover, students learn about the United States’ history and  what makes this great nation what it is today. We cover the course curriculum required by the department of education. In this course, we try our best to understand the past, present, and future of our nation.

Another course I teach is African American Literature. This course is a beginning course about African American Literature. We analyze different types of literature, discuss and debate about different types of African American Anthologies. In this class, students have a chance to express their views about literature and do research.

"The principal goal of education is to create [people] who are capable of doing new things, not simply of repeating what other generations have done." Jean Piaget (1896-1980)
