Credit/Course Requirements For High School Graduation
CREDIT REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADE PROMOTION
Students are promoted from one grade level to
another only when they have achieved sufficient credits to move satisfactorily towards graduation. Promotion is usually done at the beginning of the school year in September.
Grade
9 -
0-9 credits
Grade 10 - 10-21 credits Ten credits for students who first enter grade 9 in or after 2004-2005
school year.
Grade
11 - 22-29
credits - Students must have
passed 4 credits in English (excluding any skills courses, but including ESL courses),
4 credits in Social Studies (any 4 courses
of the H1 to H8 sequence excluding electives), (22 credits for students who first
enter grade 9 in or after the 2004-2005 school year.)
Grade
12 - 30-44 credits - Students must be able to complete
all required courses by June without attending Night School or Summer School.
A minimum of 28 credits – 30 credits for students who first enter grade
9 in or after the 2004-2005 school years.
